Belgian Cup: heading to the final four

It's already time for the Belgian Cup quarterfinals. Eight teams will battle it out to get one step closer to the title and the European ticket that comes with it.

Club Brugge vs OH Leuven

Club Brugge is the second-best home team in the league, with the best goal difference. On paper, the team from Bruges are overwhelming favorites. However, Nicky Hayen's men are battling for the championship lead, which could force the Belgian to rest some of his key players. It will then be up to the team from Leuven to seize this opportunity.

STVV vs Genk

The best team in the Pro League is traveling to the league's most difficult pitch. Just like Brugge, Genk could rest some of their key players and fall prey to the Trudonnaires' synthetic pitch, well known for bringing down the big teams.

Antwerp vs Union SG

The real clash of these quarterfinals. Sitting at 4th and 5th in the championship, a single point separates them. The teams have already played each other twice, with each team winning at home. With this cup match taking place at the Bosuil, Antwerp are slight favorites for this match. Something to keep in mind: in both championship matches, a Union Saint-Gilloise player was shown the red card.

Beerschot vs Anderlecht

These two teams have played each other twice, with one victory for each side. On paper, the mauve squad is better in terms of quality, but the home advantage has worked out rather well for the Beerschot who, unlike Anderlecht, are staking everything on the cup this season.

The favorites

Club Brugge, Genk, Antwerp and Anderlecht are the favorites, but in football, anything can happen.
