Pro League: return after the break
Let's be honest, we're all glad this international break is over, and we’re so ready to get back into it with these two great Pro League fixtures.
Standard – Antwerp
There's nothing to kick off the season restarting like a clash between two of the fieriest fanbases in the championship.
First of all, Standard have just suffered a defeat against Bruges and a defeat at Anderlecht, the worst possible sequence for any fan. So, this Friday, the mission is simple: get it back together! For several matches, the Rouches' have been a broken record: they deserve better. So, will they get what they deserve tonight?
As for Antwerp, they have a sad 11/30, just like Standard. The team are struggling to perform. With 3 defeats and 2 draws in the last 5 matches, Antwerp must get back on track at Sclessin to avoid entering the red zone. Will you bet on who you think will save their start to the season?
Union SG – Charleroi
Saturday evening brings the other clash of the weekend. Union Saint-Gilloise will have to recover from its defeat in Bruges without its coach, Sébastien Pocognoli as the former Standard captain has joined AS Monaco. After bringing the long-awaited title to the Union in his first season, the Belgian coach will take on a new challenge on the Rock. In the end, it’s David Hubert who has replaced him on the Unionist bench. Will he be up to the task?
Up against him is Rik de Mil, who has long been at the forefront of rumors to take his place on the Union bench, but Mehdi Bayat was adamant that his coach would not be leaving mid-season. However, with a low score of 12/30, we can’t really say that Charleroi have been performing exceptionally well since the start of the season. Which coach will get ahead of the other?
