Pro League: A matchday in two parts

There are some big fixtures coming up this weekend… well, not any more, actually. It turns out that this weekend’s biggest matchups have been postponed. But don’t panic, there will still be some great football this weekend!

Postponed matches

Several matches have been postponed and will not take place this weekend:

·      Club Brugge vs Westerlo

·      KRC Genk vs Charleroi

·      RSC Anderlecht vs KAA Gent

Those are the knockout matches for the European cups: for Brugge in the Champions League, Genk in the Europa League, and Anderlecht in the Conference League. But fear not, dear bettors, there are still some great matchups in store for you this weekend!

Three important matches

The 5th matchday will kick off at 18:15 on Saturday with a Standard vs Cercle Brugge match that’s critically important for the Rouches. After defeating Genk and falling to Union, Standard now face a more manageable opponent, against whom they should be able to develop their game and take control of possession.

Yet Standard’s offensive firepower will be considerably reduced. Not only is Dennis Ayensa out with an injury, but Thomas Henry will also miss the match after receiving a red card at Marien Stadium. Will Nkada be up to the task of replacing them both? A goalscorer bet might well be in order!

Sunday will start with Antwerp vs Mechelen – and with only 2 points separating 8th and 6th place, this match will effectively be a duel for the Top 6. Will the Great Old be able to fight their way back into the Top 6, or will Mechelen be rewarded for their recent solid form?

Finally, RAAL will host Union in a duel between two teams at opposite ends of the standings: Union, leader and defending champion, against La Louvière, promoted but currently in a tough spot. Will the Wolves pull off an unexpected win, or will these teams’ places in the standings be reflected in the score?

The Circus Challenge

The 5th matchday may have a bit of a lighter schedule, but don’t forget to place your free predictions in our Circus Challenge. There is still €250 up for grabs, along with your place on the leaderboard!
