Premier League: Man U face Arsenal!

The hottest league in Europe is finally back. On the first matchday, we’ve got all eyes on one clash in particular: Manchester United against Arsenal. Will Man U finally make a comeback this season?

In Manchester, the club has gone all out to raise the overall standard of players,meaning Ruben Amorim will have a higher-quality squad at his disposal than last season. Three new players headline Man U’s signings. Matheus Cunha is the first, stepping in to refresh the attacking line. The Brazilian, who proved a true revelation last season at Wolves, is a world-class addition to the squad. And he’s not alone, with Bryan Mbeumo joining from Brentford for £75 million. Amassing 28 assists in 38 Premier League matches, the French-Cameroonian player is a major signing. Last but not least, Benjamin Šeško joins from RB Leipzig to complete an explosive attacking trio.

Anthony and Jadon Sancho have also just returned from spells on loan and could add quality to the squad if they remain at the club. On top of this, there have been no major departures.

Arsenal have also strengthened their squad. With no star players leaving, three signings look to boost all areas of play: Noni Madueke in defense, Martin Zubimendi in midfield and Victor Gyökeres in attack. Arsenal were already a strong team, and now the Gunners are looking like they could be real favorites for the title. For us, one thing is clear: a bet on Gyökeres to score is a very good idea!

A predictable matchup?

Can good preparation eliminate a gap that has been widening for years? Can good signings change everything? Probably not. To get back to the top, Manchester United will need time, a positive dynamic and results. So, Arsenal are clearly the favorite.

Having said that, if United want to start with a new foundation, a victory at Old Trafford against one of the title favorites would be the ideal way to do it. Perhaps betting on a Mancunian victory is not so silly after all!
