Nations League: final four

The international break is back. The 4 best teams in Europe are going to battle to decide the winner of the Nations League who will get their ticket for the 2026 World Cup!

Germany – Portugal

We're going to dive right in with the two outsiders. Florian Wirtz's Mannschaft against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

The Germans are starting to reinvent themselves. After saying goodbye to their golden era, they are starting to dominate again with the emergence of young talents like Wirtz and Musiala. Germany have been unbeatable since their elimination against Spain in Euro 2024.

During the Nations League quarterfinals, they struggled to get rid of the Italian team who were also in the process of rebuilding. During the semifinals, Portugal had everything they needed to dominate... but they barely played.

After his abject failure against the Devils in the 2018 World Cup, Roberto Martinez took over Portugal. A team made up of stars like Rúben Dias, Vitinha, Fernandes and Leao only has one dream: get a last international trophy for their captain Cristiano Ronaldo. The problem: this excellent Portuguese team doesn't have any real substance to their play and aren't exciting anyone.

This semifinal could spell the end for the Spanish coach leading Portugal, especially as José Mourinho's shadow is already hanging over the team.

Spain – France

The other semifinal is almost an early final. The ultra-dominant Spain will face the star power of the French team.

On one side, La Roja have been walking on water since their undeniable victory during Euro 2024. They're simply the best team in the world. Blending the experience of Unai Simon or Oyarzabal with the absolutely golden youth that will dominate football worldwide for the next 10 to 15 years (Yamal, Williams Jr, Cubarsi, Huijsen, Zubimendi, etc.) and equipped with the pure DNA of everything that makes Spanish football so successful, Spain seduces and amazes us.

On the other side, France are likely getting ready for Didier Deschamps' last dance. The coach will probably leave the team after the 2026 World Cup. They might not always have the most shimmering football, but the individuality of the Bleus often makes the difference. On paper, Mbappé, Dembélé, Saliba and all their teammates make one of the best teams in the world. Between these two giants, the Spanish team could pull it off.

Two crazy matches that are sure to give us a dream final. Who will lift the trophy?
