International break: the Belgians must win!
It’s time for a new international break! Belgium are getting ready for two all-important matches against North Macedonia and Wales for their qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Belgium - North Macedonia
For their first match, Belgium won’t have any option other than to win as they will take on the current group leader: North Macedonia. With 11 points in 6 matches, they’re ahead of the Devils who have 10 points from one less match. Defeat isn’t an option, otherwise Macedonia could well win the group.
During their last match, the Devils tied 1-1 with Macedonia. A below-par performance that left many fans disappointed. However, since that match, Rudi Garcia seems to have found the recipe for a good team performance. All will be revealed tonight!
Wales - Belgium
Belgium will then find themselves on the pitch with the other favorite of the group. In the first leg, Wales were creating big problems for Belgium. After getting ahead 3-0 in under 30 minutes, Wales brought it back and drew in the second half. A goal in the 88th minute from Kevin de Bruyne was what it took to give the Devils victory.
This time, the match will be played on Welsh soil. The last time the Belgians visited, they drew 1-1. A clue for a future bet?
If the Devils win these two matches, 2026 World Cup qualification will almost be in the bag!
