Champions League: clash of the titans

This new Champions League matchday will see the competition’s top two teams face off against each other. Who will stand out as the favorite? What’s more, there are other exciting fixtures in store!

Chelsea – FC Barcelona

The race to the top 8 is still in full swing. With 7 points apiece, Chelsea and Barcelona both desperately need to win this crucial encounter.

The two teams have a similar track record, as shown by the outcome of the last matchday, when the Barcelona-Brugge and Chelsea-Qarabag games each ended in a draw. Disappointing results that do not reflect either team’s hopes.

However, in terms of national leagues, Chelsea rank 3rd in the Premier League and Barcelona are 2nd in La Liga, which just goes to show that both clubs know their stuff. You can bet on a spectacular match between two teams that cannot afford to lose.

Arsenal – Bayern Munich

Quite simply the clash of the titans. Having both achieved a score of 12/12 so far, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are currently in the top two spots on the leaderboard of the league phase... and of their respective championships. Both teams are used to coming out on top, but after this match, one of them will no longer have a perfect record.

However, it’s impossible not to get behind Bayern. The Bavarians have been undefeated this season and have only drawn once. Kompany’s players are currently without a doubt the best team in Europe. Will they dominate at Emirates Stadium?

Paris SG – Tottenham

A remake of the UEFA Super Cup to close out the 5th matchday. Paris and Tottenham are facing off once again, and Spurs are out for revenge. During their last match, PSG clinched the win as Spurs lost the penalty shootout.

However, Enrique’s players are the top dogs at the Parc des Princes and it’s hard to imagine them conceding defeat on home turf. Will Tottenham manage to flout the predictions?
